About this tour

Aswan is a city in southern Egypt that is known for its fascinating history and natural beauty. One of the most popular tourist attractions in Aswan is the Philae Temple, which was built during the reign of Ptolemy II (Egypt’s Greco-Roman Period). The temple is dedicated to the goddess Isis, and its walls contain scenes from Egyptian mythology.

Visit the High Dam and Nasser Lake, one of the largest lakes in Egypt. (Duration:2 hours)

Proceed to Visit the Unfinished Obelisk, which shows the techniques used by the ancient Egyptians to cut obelisks. Most probably it belongs to Queen Hatshepsut, one of the rulers of the 18th dynasty and the royal wife of king Tuthmosis II. (Duration: 30 minutes)

Finish the tour by Visiting Philae Temple, the place where it was believed that Isis found the heart of Osiris and then, buried it in a nearby island. Isis was an important figure in the ancient world because she was the enchantress, who resurrected Osiris and gave birth to their son Horus. The temple walls contain scenes from Egyptian mythology of Isis bringing Osiris back to life, giving birth to Horus, and mummifying Osiris after his death. (Duration: 2 hours)
